COURSE DESCRIPTION AND PROGRAM LEARNING
ELNEC-Pediatric Palliative Care was adapted from the ELNEC Core curriculum by 20 pediatric palliative care experts, recognizing the unique needs of children and their families. Since its inception, August 2003, over 1700 pediatric nurses and other health care providers have attended a national train-the-trainer course. The updated course contains enhanced perinatal and neonatal content. Although geared to nurses, this course will benefit health care providers from all disciplines who work with medically fragile children and their families.
This program prepares the learner to:
- Bolster professional development
- Deliver more high quality care to our sickest patients
- Deliver more competent care to patients and families with end of life and palliative care needs and feel more confident doing so
- Reduce stress and burnout related to caring for patients with complex palliative and end of life needs
